I’m sure that many of you are diligent and successful networkers. Successful or not, one thing that seems so obvious - having a business card on hand - has been a detail a good deal of people I have come in contact with are overlooking. The other aspect that has presented itself to me recently is how we view our competition.
To be truly successful at networking, make it a way of life. Networking is much like your marketing efforts, all the things in your bag of tricks to gain clients and alliance members. It is a gradual experience, slow at times and you won’t see results right away. This piece of your marketing efforts takes an investment of time and maybe some money, but not a lot. The more you do; the better your chances are for it to start paying off.

When Life Throws Lemons
More and more, life throws us tragedy, sadness and other curve balls. It is up to you and I to decide what they truly are. I read an article this weekend about Charlize Theron. I know little about her, other than here magnificent performance in the movie “Monster”, her mother raised her to believe she could do anything, and that she lived in South Africa for a good part of her life. Here's he take on those things life throws: “There’s never the perfect time for anything if you are interested in living all aspects of life,” she says. “There are opportunities, and you go after them, or you grab them as they come to you.”
We can see them as tragedy, but they could be hope. One might feel an experience as fear, but to you feel it exhilarating. Interesting and amazing what power you have over your world and your life. As they say in the movie, “The Secret”, you are the writer of your life. You have the pen, make your life what you want it. I'm doing my best to do so - how about you?
